Community Policing

The Brigantine Police Department is extremely proud to serve its community and is constantly searching to find new ways to enhance our community policing efforts. You will once again see officers out in the community. They will be meeting with business owners and residents to offer assistance and gather suggestions as they prepare for the summer season. Residents, both permanent and visiting, and business owners are encouraged to share ideas with the department.

This past week, the department received a call from TV-40 requesting an interview for a story on the department’s community policing efforts. Reporter Josh Sims came to the island and did a story on the business outreach program, interviewing Chief Stone and following Lt. Reed to local businesses as they handed out flyers and “QR Code” stickers. When the stickers are viewed with a smartphone “app” it takes you to the police’s website for the latest news and information. Visit nbc40.net to see the story or on the police department’s website or Facebook page. The department appreciates NBC40 taking the time to come to Brigantine and help spread the word. If at any time you have questions or concerns feel free to approach any officer, give them a call or drop by the station.
