Message from Chief Timothy J. Reed on Community Partnership

The men and women of the Brigantine Police Department are committed to the concept of “community partnership policing”. Our police department is an accredited agency that is committed to Community Partnership Policing for Brigantine. Community Partnership Policing is a collaborative effort between the police department and the community which we serve that identifies problems of crime and disorder and involves all elements of the community in the search for solutions to these problems. It involves the police working in partnership with the community and the community thereby participating in its own policing, with the two working together toward the same common goal of creating and sustaining a safe place in which to live, work and enjoy all that Brigantine has to offer.

The Brigantine Police Department is your Police Department. Your involvement and cooperation is crucial to our success and effectiveness of our Community Partnership. We encourage you to report illegal or suspicious activity, our theme this summer season is, “IF YOU SEE SOMETHING”, “SAY SOMETHING”. We want you to tell us about anything that you see that may seem suspicious. We need to know about unsafe conditions, traffic related problems and concerns, and safety issues involving children. We cannot help you unless you are willing to help us. Remember “HELP US HELP YOU”

We are a police department that recognizes the need to establish positive relationships with the community in which we serve. I encourage you to take a look at the rest of this website to find out more about our programs and our people that serve you. If you live or work here, or just visiting , please join us in keeping Brigantine , a safe place to live, work, and play, and vacation.
