Operation Thanksgiving prepares to aid needy Brigantine families

 

Help Feed a Family This Thanksgiving

The True Spirit Coalition in Brigantine is holding its annual Operation Thanksgiving event that relies on community help to donate items for Thanksgiving baskets that go to families in need. Residents and business owners are asked to give to this worthy cause as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches.

Over the years the True Spirit Coalition and it Army of Volunteers have put together baskets of food of non-perishable items include: canned yams, mashed or flaked potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, canned corn and green beans, canned fruit, and cookies. People also can give monetary contributions to the cause.

The Local Unions & Organizations & individuals are being asked to make a monetary contributions to the cause.

Donations can be dropped off at: 1501 West Brigantine Avenue Brigantine, NJ 08203 or call to schedule a pickup @ (609) 266-7942 (Linda Simpson) This event cannot take place without your help.

All donated items are placed in baskets, along with turkey, ham or main dish, and distributed through the island to families in need. For more information, call (609) 266-7942

The Brigantine Community Presbyterian Church has a shortage on childrens clothing new & used. They are requesting donations made for Christmas be in childrens clothing.
