Burglar Apprehended by Brigantine Officers

September 17th, Thomas J. Gallagher, 34, of Brigantine, was charged with Burglary, Theft, Criminal Attempt (for several attempted burglaries in the area where he was apprehended), Criminal Trespass and Criminal Mischief. Officers observed him trying to gain entry into several unoccupied homes in the area. While conducting a search for Gallagher, he was observed inside one of the homes that he just entered unlawfully, attempting to steal items from the homeowner. A perimeter was setup of by Officers, announced their presence and a short time later, Gallagher came out willingly to patrol and was taken into custody without further incident. He was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $50,000 full bail.
