Brigantine Police Saddened by the loss of ELIZABETH C. DORAN, “Betty”

Doran ElizabethDORAN, ELIZABETH C. “Betty” – 86, of Brigantine, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 18th, 2015 Betty was born in Atlantic City, to Monica and Frederick Kruger and was raised with her sister, Mildred Elliott (d. 2011), the two were inseparable. She attended Holy Spirit Grammar and High Schools, Class of 1946. She married Patrick J. Doran (d. 1993) of Atlantic City in 1949 after a 7th Grade Valentine’s Day vow. The couple moved to Brigantine in 1954, where Betty quietly and proudly proclaimed her main mission in life was to love and successfully raise her 4 boys. Betty was awarded “still most beautiful” and “still the youngest-looking” at her 25th and 50th high school class reunions. She was very quiet, unassuming and gentle her entire life. She will be so sadly missed by her loving family and friends. Betty is survived by her sons Patrick (Jackie), Matthew (Rose), Jeffrey (Tracy) and Kevin. She is also survived by her grandchildren Janelle, Matthew, Kyle (Lauren, and Kyle’s mother Tammy Clement-Doran) and Megan (mother Nancy Cost-Doran). Relatives and friends are invited to Betty’s Life Celebration on Monday February 23, 2015 from 9:15 to 10:15am at St Thomas Church, 8th Street and Brigantine Ave. Brigantine. Mass of Christian Burial will be said in Betty’s honor at 10:30am. Interment Laurel Memorial Park, Pomona. To share your fondest memory of Betty please visit www.lifecelebration.com. Betty Doran is the mother  of Retired Police Captain Jeffery Doran and Retired Police Sergeant Kevin Doran  of the Brigantine Police Department.
