Brigantine Police Saddened by the loss of Mr. THOMAS P. FINAN

FINAN, THOMAS P. – 69, of Brigantine passed away after a brief illness on Thursday October 22, 2015. Tom was born in Philadelphia, served his country in the US Army Reserves, and was a member of the Philadelphia Police Department. He worked as a HVAC mechanic, and was a member of IUOE Local #68. He owned and operated Fleet Refrigeration in Brigantine, and was employed at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino and Trump Taj Mahal, before retiring to enjoy time as a devoted grandfather, back Bay fisherman, and an avid bowler. Tom was also a charter member of the Knights of Columbus St. Thomas Council #7020 and the Brigantine Lions Club, where he served on the Miss Brigantine Pageant Committee. Tom also loved being known as the Mariner’s Cove “Pool Guy.” He is survived by his beloved wife Rosemary (nee McCarthy) and his children Annemarie Hartman (Michael), Donna Danenhower (Robert), Thomas Francis Finan (Katrina), Cheryl Derbyshire(Tom), Michael Finan and his stepsons William Stroby (Jen) and Douglas Stroby (Samantha). Tom is also survived by his grandchildren Patrick, Evan and Shannon Hartman, James McKenna, Emily Sirianni, Thomas Paul Finan 2nd, Christopher and Sean Finan, Jackson Derbyshire, Peyton Finan and Bill, Nicholas, Doug and Brad Stroby, his sister Mary Bywater and brother Tony Finan. Family and friends are invited to attend Tom’s Life Celebration on Monday October 26, 2015 from 9:15am to 11am at St Thomas Church, 331 8th Street South, Brigantine. Memorial Mass will follow at 11am. Interment is private. The family requests in lieu of flowers please send donations to the Child Federation, 18 Martin Luther King Ave. Pleasantville, NJ 08232.
