Message from Chief of Police John E. Stone an update on Hurricane Sandy.

Message from Chief of Police John E. Stone an update on Hurricane Sandy. The community has been left with widespread damage to roads, homes, business, electrical, telephone, and gas systems. The Brigantine Police & Fire Department is working jointly with local, county state and federal agencies who are on location to address these serious conditions. There is a lot of progress being made and much work remains to make your return safe. Atlantic Electric & South Jersey Gas Companies has Crews working throughout the night. Good news is that electric has been restored to some sections of the island. The Governor has issued a travel ban to the barrier islands. When that travel ban is lifted your Police, Fire and Public Works Personal will be here to assist you with your needs.  Those who remained should please not drive on the roadway   as the community is unsafe for you at this time.  There is a 6 PM- 6 AM Curfew. Our Officers are patrolling the Streets to safeguard your property. Monitor our Social Media Sites.  Remember when using a Generator; make sure it is outside away from a window.
